BESCO, a predominately Southeastern Electrical Contractor is seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent who can manage multiple and complex projects, in a fast-paced environment. Immediate opening in our Knoxville, TN office.


  • Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from necessary internal sources.
  • Evaluate materials needed based on provided job specifications.
  • Place orders with suppliers or vendors ensuring documentation is in order, with terms and conditions clearly and precisely communicated.
  • Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves discrepancies with suppliers.
  • Provides purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Maintains purchasing information, files and records for the purpose of ensuring the availability of documentation and compliance with established policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist purchasing manager as needed with negotiations with vendors for the purpose of resolving purchasing issues and/or ensuring purchases are within state and federal regulations.
  • Respond to inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources for the purpose of providing information, direction and/or appropriate referrals.


  • Prior knowledge of electrical or heavy construction procurement, required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Organized, detailed-oriented and efficient

Manager who can manage multiple complex electrical commercial/industrial projects in a fast-
paced environment. Immediate openings in our Knoxville, TN; Nashville, TN; and Lexington, KY offices.


  • Coordinates project start-up and mobilization
  • Conducts preconstruction meetings
  • Point of contact for the client, architect, engineers, and governmental entities
  • Oversees all aspects of the project, including: issuing all subcontractors, approving all vendor
    invoices, monitoring cost of self-performed work, and pricing and issuing of project changes
  • Responsible for overseeing quality control on project
  • Monitors Project Schedule to remain compliant with the Project Contract


  • 5+ Years of Project Management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Organized, detailed-oriented and efficient
