BESCO ‘s General Construction Division has an immediate opening for an experienced Construction Project Manager for Knoxville Headquarters location.  Candidate will be expected to manage multiple and complex multifamily rehabilitation general contracting projects in a face-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates project start-up and mobilization
  • Conducts preconstruction meetings
  • Point of contact for the client, architect, engineers, and governmental entities
  • Oversees all aspects of the project, including issuing all subcontracts, approving all vendor invoices, monitoring cost of self-performed work, and pricing and issuing project changes requests
  • Responsible for overseeing project quality control
  • Creates and Monitors project schedule to remain compliant with the project contract

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Construction Management (or equivalent) beneficial but not required
  • 5+ Years of related Project Management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with Construct Connect would be beneficial but not required

  • Site Safety Representative

On Site Project Safety Representative will provide technical safety and health support to production and corporate personnel. As a Safety Representative you will help coordinate safety training programs and monitors safety and health regulations to ensure federal and state safety and health compliance.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Comply and enforce all duties and responsibilities of BESCO Safety program.
• Coordinate and attend all necessary Safety Team Meetings.
• Attend any Safety Meetings called for by the customer on the construction project.
• Coordinate all recordable incident report meetings with BESCO Safety Management.
• Ensure all crews receive Toolbox Topic meetings every Monday morning and maintain the archives of signed copies for future reference and track who is delinquent in returning copies to file.
• Oversee all training to field employees is (if not personally) given, including without limitation, OSHA 10, 30, new hire orientations, CPR/First Aid, PPE, Fall Protection, Hazard Communication, BBP, Lock Out – Tag Out, Pole top Rescue, Bucket Rescue etc. (It will be your responsibility to research and coordinate the prerequisite classes or courses that will allow you to teach these classes.)
• Maintain our PPE and manage the proper replacement of any old or damaged pieces, as requested by Management.
• Ensure all incidents are investigated and reported.
• Research and develop all Job Safety Analysis, Pre-Task Planning, and Activity Hazard Awareness paperwork that may be needed to complete daily work activities.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS:
• Position requires a 4-year technical degree in the ES&H discipline plus a minimum of 3 years of experience in related construction work environment. A total of 13 years of field experience in related construction work with 5 years involving ES&H responsibilities will be accepted in place of a 4 year-degree.
• Completed the Thirty (30) hour Occupational Safety and Health Standards in the Construction Industry training course (OTI 510) or equivalent.
• Provide three (3) professional references that have first-hand knowledge of the candidate’s safety and health experience that the CONTRACTOR may contact.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
